From our family to yours...

This year the "Carver Family Sweater Party" was the biggest and baddest ever. It was more like a costume party. I think we scared dear ol' Santa when he came down the chimney. I think he thought he was at the wrong party.

Happy Holidays
from our family to yours

Santa Baby... a '54 convertible too, light blue. I'll wait up for you dear Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight

Been an angel all year... Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight

We were real fortunate this year to have "Nattie" Gagga join us along with "Fancy Nancy."

A party just isn't a party without "pimped out cousin Eddie & Catherine"
They "come into some money this year"

Jazz or Lakers?

Last week Nick and I along with the Booth crew got the privilege of going to the Jazz vs. Lakers game. It was one great game to say the least. I love watching the Jazz. But, what I love even more than watching the game...is people watching. I am like a eagle in its nest watching for prey. I love to find "off the wall" people. I also like to see what the people outside of the "Valley" are wearing these days. I love to say to myself "what the heck" is that? Here are some pics from the game.

The most annoying fans sat right behind us and they kept shouting "Odum your wife is hot." (fyi...he recently married Khloe Kardashian).

Koby--he was feeling a bit under the weather that night, so they say.
I never did find any other Laker fans that could top these guys

Can you find "Waldo" or the Jazz Bear?

I'm saving my money for one of these.

I wonder how many pictures Nick and I are in. I hope we make someone's blog

It's The Thought That Counts

I was recently asked "what's the most unique gift you've ever received?" Here are just a few that stand out...

A kind neighbor made a lovely handmade snow globe for our family
(not sure what is inside of it--but, it is the thought that counts...
\
Pooping Santa toy dispenser
(I recently just received this item from my "Pixie") I'm struggling to eat the special treats Santa leaves behind. But, it's the thought that counts...

Spice girls VHS
Thanks Nick for making our first Christmas together memorable. I did enjoy watching "Girl Power," but for some reason I think you enjoyed watching more:)
It's the thought that counts...

My all time favorite
Jumper Cables
Practical I know--But I have yet to see them in my car. I believe that they are in "St. Nicks" car. Hmmmm (St. Nick you've come along way since that first Christmas gift giving).
But, it's the thought that counts...

She's Alive

SHE'S BACK...
For Christmas this year Lauren wants "Baby Alive all better now."
Play "mommy" with this amazing doll that gets "all better" with your love and care. Insert the "thermometer" into her mouth to see that she has a "fever." Hold the "medicine" spoon to her mouth and tilt it downward to see the "medicine" disappear! She even comes with an aspirator that you can use to clear your doll's "stuffy nose". Keep her hydrated with "drinks" from her sippy cup and she actually "wets" her diaper! Make sure to change her wet diaper, and she's ready to play again!Doll comes with shirt, aspirator, "medicine" spoon, sippy cup, "thermometer", and 2 doll diapers.

I'm not convinced I want this sick baby doll around the house. I can't wait to see if ol' St. Nick will pull through for LuLu.

What are you going to be for Halloween?

What are you going to be for Halloween? That is the question Lulu keeps asking everyone she comes in contact with. The other night she was talking with Nick and asking him what he was going to be.

Lulu: "Dad what are you going to be for Halloween?"

Nick: "Ohh, I don't know?? What should I be? Do you have any ideas??"

Lulu: "Well.....?????? How about a dog?"

Lulu: "No, dad you could be a horse"

Nick: "Ohhhhh--that would be pretty cool. I'll have to think about that one."

Lulu: "No, dad--I have the best one for you....YOU COULD BE THE HOLY GHOST"

Nick: ?????????????????????????????????????????????????

What are you going to be for HALLOWEEN????

STGM 26.2 or Bust!

That is the goal "Finish Line"

Nick did it. He ran the St. George Marathon on Saturday. He did awesome! This challenging marathon was completed by more than 7,000 runners. Runners from all states except for Vermont. Only 53% of the runners were from Utah. I saw runners of all sizes, shapes and many with a story. I couldn't help but hold back the tears watching all these runners complete their goal. It was very inspiring.

Nick's time was 3:38:29 Yeahhhh!Anthony encouraged Nick by running with him the last few miles. Nick said he was a "life saver."
Nothing like a dip in the pool with cousins:)
It was fun to spend the day with Anthony, Krisha & Sage

The race wasn't the only challenge...Luke found this scary Black Widow just inside of the garage where we were staying. Let's just say, seeing that spider kept us on our toes the entire trip.

I'm sick of being a kid...

Okay--so, I know I have posted this picture before of Luke, but it just cracks me up. The other day he was having one of his moments aka "Luke tired moments" and he said he was sick of being a kid and wanted to be a teenager!! Heaven help. The kid has the best life ever. But, if I had to wear this outfit for the school play I too might be saying those words.

Any advice for this kid??

Ode to summer...

Our summer days are winding down and fall is in the air. Here is an ode to summer of '09
Alex doing her thing...knee boarding and finally going outside the wake
This summer Lauren gave herself a new haircut. Fortunately, it was just a trim
Alex (#10) playing soccer in Park City. Way to go Firecrackers!

Luke decided that our garage needed a little makeover. I just thought that Zorro had come and left his mark printing an L instead of a Z.

It wasn't hard to find the suspect out. LUKE

What a summer...hot air balloons landing in the backyard.

Summer wouldn't be summer if it didn't include a family reunion. We had our 1st and now annual Carver reunion at the "Heber Valley Camp"

We all did the challenge courses which included climbing a pole, traversing a cable or walking across a log that was 30 feet above the ground, and ending with a good thrill on a zip line. We all conquered our fear of heights.

All of my dads 7 siblings and their children and their children and so on were part of the great event. "The Gorbees" was what we the "Dave Carver family" called ourselves. Don't ask what a "Gorbee" is, because no one knows what a "Gorbee" is, except for Grandpa Carver. God bless you gramps. It was fun to be together with family and share memories and stories of Grandpa and Grandma Carver. We love you both and felt your presence. What a legacy you both left.

Our hike that ended with a beautiful view of Moose Meadow
It is hard to say goodbye to such a wondeful summer,
but excitement is in the air for school to start

Luke sitting in his desk. What a super cute 2nd grader

The F's and B's were the first ones to enter through the doors of the new Valley School.

Here is a peek of my new classroom. Thanks to Keeks for the cute idea and a special thanks to my Lukey for the graffiti idea. The principal said "graffiti already." But, isn't it cute? Perfect for 6th graders.

We have had quite the summer...Life is pretty great!

Horses, chickens, and pigs...

Every August the fair rolls into town. We love to support the local fair and enjoy some good tunes by the band "Dark Horse." I always come away wanting to be a cowgirl and I want Nick to wear a cowboy hat. I want our family to start raising chickens, cows, and pigs. I then come to my senses and realize that we can't even take care of an ant farm. How could we take care of horses, chickens, and pigs. Instead of being a cowgirl and Nick a cowboy I've just started listening to country music. That will have to do.

Here are a few pictures of what we saw at the fair

No joke...

Only at the Ogden Fair will you see this...
